IDRC-SEARCA scholarship project leader visits study posts in Thailand

Dr. Editha C. Cedicol, Program Head of Graduate Scholarship Department of SEARCA and Project Leader of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) funded Southeast Asian Uplands Fellowship visited Thailand to meet the IDRC scholars and conduct coordination and monitoring meetings with the University Coordinators in Kasetsart University, Chiang Mai University, and Khon Kaen University, Thailand from 26 August to 30 August 2013.

Dr. Cedicol briefed the officials, coordinators, and scholars in these universities about the fellowship project and discussed logistical concerns related to the administration of the scholarship, financial requirements, academic concerns, and role of the coordinators in ensuring smooth and efficient management of the scholars’ programs. She also took the opportunity to discuss the preparations for the 1st IDRC-SEARCA annual fellowship conference to be held at SEARCA on 24-26 September 2013. She also had the chance to meet with some of the scholars’ advisers during the visit.

Coordination with the study posts is a core aspect of the IDRC Uplands Fellowship Project for an efficient scholarship handling and effective management of the scholars’ program. (Jachin Jane Aberilla)
